About Nerro Levy
Straight from Waterford Portmore we have LEON LEVY o/c NERRO not only born December 6, 1987 and a Sagittarius, but also born with a mellifluous voice which his DNA did not deny him of. His inspiration came from Barrington Levy, his father, who is also labeled an icon for some of his well known songs in the Reggae/Dancehall industry ‘Black roses in my garden’, ‘Too experienced’ etc.
--- LIFE WITH MUSIC —-
The hankering to be a part of the music industry began at age 14 as I was doing freestyles in school, making beats with a desk until it propelled me into being the best at it which grew my popularity. I continued with a program called ‘fruity loops’ for beat making and ‘acid or innuendo’ for recording.
Have you seen a friendship that’s inseparable? That is music and I. It became my profession at age 21, but with lack of connections and no support, it was a hectic journey where years would fly by and no real recognition. It became a struggle but it never stopped me as my tenacity grew stronger. I voiced my very first emotional track encapsulating the fight, setback, faded loyalty, battles and scars that I have faced and which also comes with being in the music industry entitled “DWEET FI YUH SELF” . It has been moving up in numbers and meeting major playlists worldwide, also streets and radio performance feedback which shows how much impact it has on the relatable.
I AM NERRO, and my journey hasn't been an easy one, but with my tenacity; the possibility for greater-greatness is not far sighted.
